We do have a football match this week at long last; a visit up to Hampden Park to see Annan take on Queens Park. The last time we were there young Plug was on his stag do and a right motley crew saw Annan share the spoils in a 0-0 draw. Following this we beat them 3-1 at home in December. Remembering we were also victors over them in the Alba Cup at the start of the season - maybe we are their jinx team? Big Jakes back on the bus on Saturday, lets hope he’s not a bad luck omen! As at Tuesday night there were only 5 seats left. Bus leaves 10.30am, phone to reserve a seat. Queens Park has a tidy little clubhouse, a stones throw from Hampden Park and you are always made very welcome for anyone interested.

Anyone going out on Friday night bewares of that well known Hillend Hero and Supporters Club member Gary “Beano “Anderson. He is currently sporting a droopy Freddy Mercury type moustache for a fancy dress party he says! He did however inform me that the much maligned Half Netter sculpture was actually based on his good friend and well known half netter Mr. Alan Warwick.

I better not forget to mention Weeds quiz next Friday night (29^th.Jan) at the Football Club – he says they are coming from far and wide.
