             The signs were ominous from the moment Beans was spotted wearing a Peru top,  him a Tartan Army foot soldier too, why  the nightmares :-  Don’t Cry for me Argentina ,1978 World Cup, 3-1 to Peru, Teofilo  Cubillas etc. pep pill Willie. In some countries such sacrilege would see the culprit strung up and quartered. There was to be no Archie Gemmill moments on Saturday, Queens Park looked composed and stole the game with goals in the final minutes of each half. Annan pressed in the second half and David Cox had the most obvious chance which he elected to head rather than control and slot away, easier said than done I suppose. One bright aspect of Saturday was the colourful footwear worn by Jimmy Jonstone (no not the deceased Celtic Legend but our own Johnstone St. version).Now we know why he’s knicknamed Jazz – last week he had a pair of luminous orange moonwalker type trainers on, this week he had a pair of blue brothel creepers I think their known as; old teddy boys like big Les Garham and Jake Glendinning would surely no. I did ask Tan but he was more of a cultured Big Band Sound man. 

            The weegies from Queens Park certainly enjoyed their day and night,Tight Top Terry doing his best to entertain them at the Anglers karaoke. The Spiders are certainly on fine form and disregarding Livi and East Stirling there are about ½ a dozen teams vying for the 2 remaining play off places. At the time of going to press the Stranraer midweek result is not known but hopefully we’re back in business and all the guys going up to Coatbridge on Saturday have something to cheer about. The bus leaves at 10.30am. Following this we have a double header at home, Montrose on Tuesday night followed by the visit of the champions elect Livingston next Saturday.
