Gala Day at Netherdale

On the second game of their short trip to the Borders Annan played with much more fluency than 24 hours earlier. Playing a 4-4-2 formation Annan took a deserved lead in the 15th minute when Alan Inglis fired home a left peg strike from all of 25 yards out. Gala equalised within 2 mins when Jamie Gibson scored a screamer that flew over Summersgill from 22 yards out.

Phil Storey combined with Jack to give Annan a haltime lead.

The second half started with a quick a diving header from Graham Bell following a quality cross from Inglis.

The 4th arrived after Cox, L Sloan and Macbeth entered the fray. Sloan's peach of a corner was met by Aaron Muirhead's napper in the 62nd minute. The 5th arrived in the 69th minute when Bell's cross was met by Storey and the Gala Keeper, the ball fell to Storey who walked round the keeper and stroked the ball home

Number 6 was a well worked move that saw the impressive Lewis Sloan pick up a through ball from one of the four trialists that featured. The new addition to the Black and Gold ranks showed how clinical a finisher he is by firing low home from the left corner of the box.

Annan (4-4-2):

Summersgill,

Trialist, Muirhead, Neilson, Inglis:

Trialist 2, Jardine, Jack, Trialist 3:

Bell, Storey

Subs (all used):

Cox, Macbeth, L Sloan, Trialist 4

A much more coherent display from Annan who had not only brought fans from Annan with Preston, Edinburgh, Dalkieth, Dumfries, Jedburgh all represented.
