19 year old left sided centre back Steven Swinglehurst has joined Annan Athletic on a loan deal that will see him join the Galabankies until the end of the season.

It's been a busy couple of days on the player front:

Goalkeeper Ross Hyslop has had his contract extended to the end of the season and will immediately continue his loan spell at Lanark Utd.

Midfielder Danny Mitchell has signed a professional contract that will keep him with the club until the end of the season.

Ben McKenna has joined the club from Carlisle United on a loan deal until the end of the season, Ben is an attacking wide midfielder who gained an U19 cap for Northern Ireland earlier in the season. It is hoped that Ben's international clearance is through in time for tomorrow's game at Alloa.

It is hoped there will be further transfer news in the next week.

The match v Elgin is off due to the pitch being frozen in places. The fixture will be re-arranged for late Feb or March.

Annan Athletic Over 35's (managed by Chairman Henry McClelland) are playing a charity football match against a team from the Supporters Club (managed by Paul 'Pidmoondoo Piddle Piddle' Ewart), the game will take place on Galabank on Boxing Day, kick-off 1pm.

Annan and Stranraer have brought thier scheduled New Year game at Stair Park forward from the 2nd January to Sat 31st Dec (Hogmany)

The Supporters Club are running a bus, names can be added to list in the Social Club

It is with deep sadness that we report that long-time Annan Athletic fan Stan Adams passed away at the weekend, Stan will be greatly missed by his many friends and contacts he made in the football world through his attendances at matches here at Galabank and his gifted talent on messageboards such as Pie and Bovril / Annan Athletic Mad etc under his psuedonym of 'Solwaycoast'.

Stan was always seen standing at the same spot each week, to the side of the goal at the clubhouse end of the ground, our thoughts and condolences at this time are with Stan's family.

There is no pitch inspection tonight and the game goes ahead.

Club Captain Kevin Neilson will be leaving the club this week for pastures new as he heads for Australia for six months. After tuesday's game v Stranraer Kevin's contract with the club will be terminated, this will allow Kevin to continue playing football down under.

The club wish Kevin every success in Australia, we are grateful for all his efforts in our own maiden voyage in the SFL in which Kevin has appeared 127 times for the club.

Following a succesful match as a trialist in Annan's game versus Kirkintilloch Rob Roy the club have signed Ex Stranraer FC captain and midfileder Danny Mitchell - Danny has played 147games in his three and a half seasons with the Stair Park club.

Due to Stranraer's Scottish Cup replay this weekend (Sat 26th Nov) the club have no game and are in the process of finalising arrangements to play a friendly with Kirkintilloch Rob Roy (at Galabank), kick-off will be 3pm.

Rob Roy have ex Glasgow Rangers Marvin Andrews playing for them.
