LOAN SIGNING – Sam Murdoch

Annan Athletic are pleased to announce the loan signing of goalkeeper Sam Murdoch from Greenock Morton.

The 18 year-old shot-stopper joins the Black & Golds for the season ahead and will link up with goalkeeper coach Greg Fleming and the rest of the squad ahead of pre-season training.

Murdoch broke into the Morton first team in 2025/26 and impressed on his debut against Airdrieonians, keeping a clean sheet, providing an assist and making a crucial late save in a 1-0 win. His performance earned him a spot in the SPFL Team of the Week.

Manager Wullie Gibson said: “Myself and Greg Fleming have spoke in length about goalies and Sam was identified quite early on. We also spoke to others who have worked with him and he is very well thought of. I’ve got a good relationship with the guys at Morton and would like to thank them, hopefully the loan will be beneficial for both parties.”

Everyone at Annan Athletic FC welcomes Sam to the club.
