NEW SIGNING – Ally Roy

Annan Athletic FC are delighted to announce the signing of forward Ally Roy.

Ally joins the Black & Golds with a wealth of SPFL experience, bringing power and a proven eye for goal to Wullie Gibson’s attack at Galabank. Known for his ability to play right across the front line, he adds real threat and versatility as we push into the new season.

The 29 year old striker started his football career with Hearts and has gone on to play for a number of Scottish clubs like Partick Thistle, Queen of the South and Morton.

Ally has also enjoyed spells playing in Ireland with Sligo Rovers and Derry City, where he experienced a taste of European football playing in the Europa League.

No stranger to Galabank, Ally has recently played with Stirling Albion and Dumbarton, scoring twice against us last season in a 4-3 win for “The Sons”

“Delighted to be here and finally get it all sorted,” commented Ally.

“I’m really looking forward to season ahead and meeting up with everyone at the club and excited to get started.”

“Having worked with the manager before it was something I felt would be a positive move for me aswell as fitting into what the managers plans for the club are going forward. I’ve always enjoyed playing at Annan as an away player any time I have been here so I’m looking forward to being on the opposite end and playing here more regularly as a home player.”

“My aim for the season is to help Annan finish as high up the table as possible and achieve our objectives as a club whilst playing my part and contributing to the team as much as possible.”

Manager Wullie Gibson added, “I’ve worked with Ally previously, both as a player and a manager so I know him well. He can play in a front two, in the 10 or off a side so gives us good options in the forward positions. With the forwards we already have and possibly more still to come we feel we have good quality and competition for places.
