NEW SIGNING : Kirk McNight

Annan Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Kirk McKnight.

Kirk started his football journey coming through the youth system at Kilmarnock. He gained valuable senior experience during loan spells with Dumbarton and BSC Glasgow, before making the move to Stranraer in 2024.

During his time at Stair Park, Kirk established himself as a key figure in the middle of the park, racking up over 50 appearances and impressing with his energy, tenacity and quality on the ball.

A combative, box-to-box midfielder, Kirk brings legs, aggression and a real desire to drive the team forward. He’ll add depth and competition to Wullie Gibson’s midfield options at Galabank.

Speaking to the media team, Kirk said “I’m delighted to be joining Annan. I’ve been training with the boys for a few weeks now and they’re great lads. It was an easy decision joining Annan as I know how they like to play having played against them previously. I’m really hoping we can push for promotion this season and it would be nice to have a good cup run like they did last year”

Manager Wullie Gibson added, “Kirk is a versatile player who is comfortable on the ball but can also put himself about and add a good work ethic to the team.

Like Corey and Brannan he’s still a young lad (21) and we feel he has the potential to do really well. He also knows the league having spent time at Stranraer so that will do him good.”
