NEW SIGNING – Cammy Cooper

Annan Athletic are pleased to announce the signing of striker Cammy Cooper.

The 20 year old forward came through the youth academies at Rangers and Partick Thistle with his performances earning him a move to England with Oxford United, before returning north of the border to sign with Airdrieonians.

Making over 40 appearances for Airdrie at a young age, Cammy has also gained valuable senior experience with loan spells abroad and in the SPFL. This included a stint in Lithuania with FK BE1 Jonava, and most recently a loan spell with Kelty Hearts in Scottish League One.

Speaking to the media team after signing at Galabank, Cammy said “I’m delighted to join the club and really looking forward to the season ahead.

Although I had some options from other clubs, I feel at this stage of my career I need to fully establish myself by playing regularly and showing what I can do. After speaking with the gaffer, I really liked what he had to say, how he wants us to play and what he expects from me.

I can’t wait to get going, meet the boys and get out in front of the fans.

I’m confident we can have a really good season there’s a good mix of youth and experience in the team and I’m confident we can compete at the top end of the table.”
