NEW SIGNING – Sena Niang
Annan Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Sena Niang.

Sena joins the Black & Golds and goes straight into Wullie Gibson’s squad for the upcoming fixtures.
The 26-year-old began his professional career at Partick Thistle, where he had loan spells with Cumnock Juniors and Montrose before making his first-team debut for the Jags in 2019.
Sena enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at Firhill in 2020/21, picking up Partick Thistle’s Player of the Month award in November 2020 before helping the club lift the League 1 title later that season.
After leaving Partick, Sena moved south of the border to join League 2 side Hartlepool United for a season.
Since returning to Scotland, he has gained valuable experience in the SPFL with spells at Cove Rangers and Dumbarton, before spending last season with Clyde FC.
After signing at Galabank, Sean commented, “It feels good to join the club and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans.
The gaffer had shown interest in me for a long time so that played a massive part in me coming here as it’s always good to feel wanted. I also believe there’s a good team here to hopefully go and have a good season.”
Manager Wullie Gibson said, “Sena played as a trialist on Saturday as we didn’t have time to complete the paperwork. For the 70 odd minutes he played I think he showed what he is all about…a lot of energy, breaks up play and adds a real physical presence.
We’re short in numbers due to injuries at the minute so this feels a massive boost to all of us.”
