Supporters Conduct

Before Saturday’s game at Galabank between Annan Athletic and Stirling Albion, stewards performed bag searches as per the requirements to prevent illegal and unwanted items from entering the stadium.

On two separate occasions (a few minutes apart), supporters’ bags were opened and small polythene bags containing golf balls were found and confiscated.

It was realised by the stewards that the two individuals were standing together with other fans who did not have bags with them.  It was agreed that these supporters would be asked to go for a search too. During this search another supporter was found with potential sharp objects in their pocket.

The concerning aspect for the club is these were regular fans bringing items that could be viewed as missiles or weapons into the ground. Whilst there may have been no malicious intent from the parties, this is a concerning development for all involved at the club.

The Board would like to reinforce to all fans, that any repeats of such items attempting to be brought into the ground at future matches will be dealt with the severest of consequences. All items will be confiscated, the individuals will be reported directly to the police and a stadium ban will be put in place to prevent entry to Galabank.

The club fully appreciates the support given to the team by our fans and in particular our younger fans.
