Matchday Programme – Stranraer Edition

Don’t Miss Saturday’s Programme – It’s a Belter!

This Saturday’s Match Day Programme, on sale at the Annan Athletic v Stranraer D&G derby, is an absolute belter. If you’ve never picked a Programme up so far, this is the perfect issue to dip your toes in. Give it a try! It costs about the same as a cup of coffee, and you won’t be disappointed.

The big one: how Scotland plans to fix its talent problem

Last week’s Programme explained why Scotland hasn’t been producing or retaining enough top tier footballers. This week, we reveal what’s being proposed to put it right.

This Saturday’s extended article explains the changes designed to produce and keep more top tier talent in Scottish football. If the SFA and SPFL approve the changes in the coming weeks, some could take effect as early as next season, and you would notice the difference. What do Belgium and Iceland do well? What do Scotland and Turkey not do well?Read this, and you will know exactly what may be coming,èbefore most fans do.

But there’s much more inside:

• Our Disabilities Teams: a special splash on the Annan Athletic Avengers, who have just lifted a trophy and the 2nd Division title, and on the Annan Athletic All Stars, who placed well in the Premiership despite not competing at this high level before.

• Annan Athletic CFC U20s: their third win of the season, an exciting 3-4 victory. The match report is a thrilling read.

• Ladies Team: a special report featuring our 2026/27 Team Captain and Vice Captain, with photos and impressivewords from each, plus great match coverage of the Ladies and Girls teams plus photos.

Thank you, and a word of warning!

A huge thank you to all our readers. We really appreciate your support. Your feedback and kind comments have really encouraged our content contributors, and they keep the Editor on his toes, along the lines of;- “How can we make the content even better?” Thank you all, you are brilliant!

Getting the print numbers right is never easy, and as you would expect we keep a tight rein on costs. Last Saturday we sold every single copy, and not for the first time! Chris had been worried he’d ordered too many, so he was particularly pleased.

He’s ordering extra for this Saturday because this Programme is a belter and we expect demand to be even higher, The fact that we have a derby match adds a lot of extra interest. Even so, please buy your Programme early to avoid disappointment!

Programmes can be bought on Fanbase as an ‘add on’ to your match ticket; – if you do this your Programme will be reserved for you and it should be collected from our main sales point outside the Club shop. Alternatively, just rock up on match day and buy a Programme outside the Club shop or at the Bar.If there is rain, your Programme will be supplied in a protective cover. Subscribers and ‘post outs’ will have reserved copies as usual.

See you Saturday. “Come on Annan!” Let’s give our team all the support that we can!
