Club Statement-William Scott

Everyone associated with the club are saddened to hear of the sad passing of former board member and lifelong fan William Scott.

‘Wull’ as he was affectionately known to his many family and friends was an important member of the clubs board during a successful period for the club. He presided on the board for many years and took great pride in the clubs historic double winning season of 1999/2000, an anniversary that’s being marked next month at the club.

The club were forever grateful to Wull, Margaret and the family for the financial support offered during the building of the Main Stand at Galabank. Along with the support of the late Dave Monk, the stand was named ‘The Monk and Scott Stand’ in appreciation of the contribution made by both families. The stand was officially opened when Rangers came to Galabank to visit on Sunday 27th July, 2008.

The families generosity was instrumental in putting the foundations in place that helped underpin the clubs successful bid for SPFL status in 2008, a legacy that continues to live on today.

The club would like to pass on our deepest and heartfelt condolences to Margaret, Donna, Barry and their respective families.

Funeral arrangements will be made available once these are confirmed by the family.
