Club Vacancy – Physiotherapist

Annan Athletic Football Club are looking to recruit an experienced, committed, knowledgeable and highly motivated individual to undertake the role of Physiotherapist within the Football Club.

The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the strategic management and leadership of all aspects of the Physiotherapy plan, providing medical support to players and coaches.   

They will have experience in working successfully within a high performance sports environment with a clear understanding of athletic development.

Reporting in the first instance to the 1st team Manager, they will be responsible, for leading an integrated programme of medical support for all levels of the club, consistent with the playing philosophy of the 1st team Manager.

The post-holder will have specific responsibility for managing and overseeing the design, planning and delivery of a cohesive and systematic provision of physiotherapy support across all aspects of the football operation at the club. You will work to ensure that players at all levels of the performance continuum are appropriately supported to optimise their performance in training and competition.

  • Qualifications (Desirable)
    • Degree in Physiotherapy or related discipline
  • Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
    • Experience of working in a professional football club multidisciplinary team.
    • Experience of athlete management with a detailed understanding of injury prevention and long-term player development.
    • Proven record of achieving outcomes in terms of individual player improvements in fitness and conditioning.
    • Evidence of recent CPD and a comprehensive CPD portfolio.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)
    • Knowledge of Football Sports and Medicine Science best practice.
    • Experience of strategic planning with evidence of vision and imagination

  • Location
    • Training takes place at Galabank, Annan.
  • Hours of Work
    • The post holder will be required to attend training on a Tuesday and Thursday evening and attend all match day events.
