Match Report

Annan Athletic got up and running in League 1 with their first 3 points of the season against Edinburgh City.
After enduring a tough start to the new season the Galabankies finally had something to smile about after a dramatic finish to the game.

The home side yet again looked to be heading for defeat after a poor start, conceding 2 goals in the first half an hour but Dominic Docherty clawed one back before half time to give the Black and Golds hope for the second half.

Fans were delighted to see the welcome return of Tommy Goss coming back from injury to play the second half and a later return for Chris Johnston in the 67th minute brought Annan more attacking options.

Docherty hit the equaliser with another fine finish from outside the box with half and hour of the match remaining.

With Annan now knocking on the door for their first league win, the scenes of joy were left until late when Tommy Goss headed home the winner in the 86th minute!
