Match Report

A rampant second half performance from the visitors Queens Park earned them a comfortable victory over Annan Athletic on Tuesday evening.
In a fairly even first half, Queens Park took the lead in the 10th minute after the Annan defence was carved wide open and Lee Davidson finished by rounding keeper Gary Black. Annan squared the game after a period of sustained pressure when Robine Omar cracked in a low 24 yard shot into the corner of the net beyond the outstretched arm of Sam George. As the game edged towards half time a fine challenge by Dan Wood on David Ramsay denied the Queens Park striker.
Queens Park started the second half brightly and it took a good save by Gary Black to deny David Ramsay who was clean through on goal. Annan substitute Jordan Brown came close with a good effort in the 55th minute but a minute later Ryan Smith connected with a cross lofted to the heart of the Annan defence to head powerfully into the net to edge Queens Park ahead.
Annan were being pressed back hard and it came as no surprise when Queens Park’s pressure was once again rewarded in the 65th minute when David Ramsay connected with a Thomas Collins cross to slot the ball into the net. Annan’s second half misery was completed in the 85th minute when Thomas Collins converted a penalty after the same player was brought down by keeper Gary Black.
Annan had the last say in the final minute when Steven Logan latched on to a through ball from Omar to slip the ball past the advancing keeper.
Annan’s next match in the Development League is next Tuesday evening when they entertain Ayr United at Galabank.
