Match Report

Ayr United completed a development league double over Annan at Somerset Park on Tuesday evening with an emphatic 5 goal victory.

United went ahead in the 28th minute when Ryan Nisbet finished a good run off with a 15 yard shot which flew into the bottom corner of the net. Almost immediately Annan squandered a golden opportunity when shots from Todd and Davison were scrambled clear. Nisbet doubled Ayr’s lead in the 41st minute with a surging run before rounding keeper Craig Murray.
Sean McKenzie made sure there was little or no chance of an Annan comeback when he increased Ayr’s lead in the 60th minute with a low shot into the corner of the net from the edge of the box. McKenzie then made it four in the 70th minute finishing with a shot from close range. Annan’s misery was completed in the 76th minute when man of the match Ryan Nisbet scored to complete his hat trick with a cracking shot.
Annan’s next match in the Development League is on Tuesday evening 11th November when they face Clyde at Galabank Stadium kick off 7-30pm. The same evening Annan travel to Elgin for an SPFL 2 Match.
