Match Report

Two goals in the first 15 minutes at the start of the second half were enough to secure the points for Morton at Capillow on Tuesday evening after the teams finished the first half all square.
Morton got off to a great start when Aiden Ferris latched on to a Scott Tiffoney through ball to finish with a fine shot low and into the corner of the net passed Jordan Hart. Annan eqaulised in the 17th minute when Craig McNight scored an own goal after being put under pressure by the Annan attack. Morton went back into the lead in the 23rd minute through Thomas Orr who’s fine low strike beat the diving Jodan Hart. The Galabankies fought back again when Junior Ogen’s powerful header from Flynn’s cross found the top corner of the net in the 27th minute. Peter Weatherson’s 37th minute free kick off the base of the post came close to giving Annan a half time lead.
Aiden Ferris added to his earlier goal in the 59th minute when his shot on the turn at the back post found the corner of the net. Four minutes later and Annan’s hopes were dashed again when a poor pass from Dan Wadge was intercepted by Thomas Orr who finished clinically to complete the scoring.
