Gibson Appoints His Assistant
Manager Wullie Gibson has appointed Steven Bell to be his assistant in the dugout for the upcoming season.
This is Steven’s first spell in management but was somebody the manager was very keen to bring to the club as his number 2.
Steven started his playing career at Dundee United and has also played for a number of Scottish clubs such as Dunfermline Athletic, Ayr United and Partick Thistle.
The manager commented on his latest appointment,
“I’m delighted that Steven has agreed to become my assistant. I’ve known Steven a long time and he is someone I have a good relationship with and that I trust. We share a lot of the same philosophies which is very important. We’ve shared the dressing room as players in the past and enjoyed good success, and we’re now looking forward to working together in this role. The coaching team is taking shape nicely and Belly will be a big asset for me and the club.”
The new Assistant Manager added, “The opportunity to work with the manager attracted me to the club first and foremost. I had the upmost respect for the manager when I shared a dressing room with him as a player. He was a fantastic player who gave everything to the team on and off the pitch, and I expect those qualities I seen then as a player to shine as a manager.”
“Finally, the opportunity to come and work at a club which has so many similarities to other part time clubs I’ve been involved in, working with good honest players, improving them and having a sense of belonging within the community where we can work together to bring success on the park was a huge pull for me.”
