Kevin Rutkiewicz appointed as assistant manager

The club are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Rutkiewicz as Assistant Manager.

Kevin began his playing career at Aberdeen where he spent almost seven years before moving to St Johnstone.

Rutkiewicz went on to make over 100 appearances for the Saints, scoring his debut goal against Queen of the South in the League Cup. He was made club captain at McDiarmid Park and in 2009 received Scottish First Division Player of the Month award.

Kevin then played at Dunfermline Athletic and Greenock Morton before taking a player/coaching role at Carolina RailHawks in the North American Soccer League, but moved back to Scotland in 2014.

Manager Peter Murphy told the club website,

“Having known Kevin for a few years, firstly meeting and playing with him at Ayr United. Then doing our UEFA A Licence together I was very excited to get him in.

Kevin knows Scottish football inside out and has countless contacts in the game.

Most importantly his enthusiasm and work ethic is infectious which the players will thrive on. I feel Kevin is one of my most important signings to date.”
