Lewis McLear signs at Galabank

Annan Athletic are delighted to welcome Lewis McLear to Galabank.

The 23 year old midfielder came through the youth academy at St Mirren and was awarded a professional contract, making his Premier League debut in December 2014.

After failing to nail down a place with the Buddies, Lewis has had spells at Elgin, Edinburgh City, Stirling Albion and Albion Rovers. McLear scored a free kick against Annan whilst playing with Albion Rovers last season.

Peter Murphy commented “Lewis is an exciting young talent who impressed me greatly when he was playing in a very poor Albion Rovers side, it didn’t quite worked out for him at Stirling so now he has that desire to achieve and will relish the opportunity at Annan whilst also adding a different dynamic to our attack. Keep an eye on this boy!”
