Manager of the month for Murphy

Annan Athletic manager Peter Murphy has been awarded Ladbrokes Manager of the Month for August 2018.

Annan finished last season strongly, losing only one of the last 5 fixtures in the league, and the manager moved fast to renew the contracts of the players he wanted to keep.

During the summer Peter had added quality in all the right places and the Galabank faithful have been excited with the teams start to the new season, with Murphy being rewarded for the teams 3 wins and a draw in the opening August fixtures.

Peter commented, “delighted to receive this award on behalf of everyone at the club, this is a result of a good start from the players but also the good work they have put in over the last season and up to now with the new players adding to it. The challenge is now to maintain that form or improve on it which will be very difficult! The players will thrive on that challenge”
