Annan’s run in the Scottish Youth Cup came to an end on Sunday afternoon in horrendous conditions at Somerset Park, as they were beaten convincingly by Ayr United’s youths.

It was the away side that got off to the better start, going ahead when Rabine Omar converted from the spot to open the scoring. Ayr soon got back on level terms when the Annan defence failed to clear from a cross, meaning the teams went in at the break all square.

It was the hosts that came out for the second half raring to go and immediately scored 2 quick goals, making it a hard task from there on for the Annan side.

Ayr completed Annan’s misery with another 4 goals second half to bring the young Black and Golds cup run to an end in miserable conditions.
