Annan travelled to Cumnock to play in a memorial match for former goalkeeper Graham Potter who tragically passed away in the summer of 2009  whilst on a pre season tour of the north east of England with his club at the time Cumnock Juniors.

Graham started his career at Hamilton Academicals and it was during this time that his love affair with the Galabank faithful started. Graham joined the black and golds on loan and starred as Davie Irons took his side to the East of Scotland league title and a heart breaking Scottish Cup exit to Brechin City in the Scottish cup.

Cumnock took the lead in the 2nd minute Bradford netted a screamer from 25 yards. Annan edged their way back into the game and found themselves deservedly level when new signing Scott Davidson netted after 17 mins. The away side then went on to take the lead when Keiran Brannan scored after 28 mins. Cumnock tried to get back into the game and were unlucky when a Robertson header rattled the crossbar on the 35 mins  and they went on to shake the Annan woodwork again on the stroke of halftime when McQueens hit the post.

A flurry of subs at halftime didn’t distract from the quality on show and Annan were unlucky not to extend their lead when Brannan’s well struck shot drew a good save from the home keeper. Cumnock equalised on 85 mins when the brother of Annan player Ally Love and former Galabank target Robert Love capitalised on a defensive mixup to square the game.

The game was decided on penalties and it was Cumnock who came out on top when Chris Jardines penalty struck the post and left the Ayrshire side happy with score on penalties finishing 6-5.
