Match Report

Annan completed their first half development league fixtures still looking that elusive victory after they went down 3-1 against the Queens at Palmerston on Monday evening.
Annan competed well for the majority of the match but Queens finished strong and ran out convincing winners. It was Queens who went ahead in the 25th minute when Josh Scott connected with a Lynden Dykes cross to slot the ball into the net from close range.
Annan started the second half well and they were rewarded in the 55th minute when James Gillan put the finishing touches to a fine move which unlocked the Queens defence. As so often happens Annan conceded a disappointing second goal which ended up with the trialist upending substitute Ally Berry and Jake Pickard made no mistake from the spot kick sending Murray the wrong way.
Dean Smith secured the points for Queens with a spectacular volley from a Ross Ferguson cross in the 75th minute.
Annan’s next match in the Development League is on Monday evening 8th December when they face Airdrieonians at the Excelceor Stadium , Airdrie kick off 7-30pm. The following evening 9th December Annan face Brechin at Glebe Park, Brechin in the William Hill Scottish Cup replay .
