Max Kilsby Departs Annan Athletic

Annan Athletic Football Club can confirm that Max Kilsby has left the club to join Darlington of the English aNational League North.

Everyone at Annan Athletic would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Max for his excellent service during his time at Galabank. He arrived on loan from Carlisle United in July 2022 and quickly became a key figure in the club’s history.

Max’s standout moment in an Annan shirt came in the 2022/23 Scottish League One play-off final against Clyde. He scored two crucial goals in the first leg on 16 May 2023, a 3-1 win at Galabank, before playing the full 90 minutes as Annan held on in the second leg to win 5-2 on aggregate — securing promotion to Scottish League One for the first time in the club’s history.

Annan Athletic Chairman, Russell Brown,said: “Max will always have a special place in this club’s history. Those two goals against Clyde were incredible moments which helped to take us into League One for the first time, and that’s something he’ll be remembered for at Galabank for years to come. On behalf of everyone at the Club, I want to thank Max for his commitment and wish him every success at Darlington.”
