Moxon returns for Carlisle

Owen Moxon will return to Galabank for Friday evenings friendly as a Carlisle United player, after enjoying a sensational first season with the Blues.

Moxon caught the eye by many the EFL League Two last season with his stand out performances leading the club to a promotion winning play off game at Wembley Stadium.

The ex Annan midfielder wiped the board at the end of season awards night, scooping 4 awards and was also named in the EFL League Two team of the season.

Carlisle manager Paul Simpson told the United’s official website that Friday nights friendly was a thank you to Annan for helping them with Owens move south.

“It’s a really good game for us,” the Carlisle manager commented, “It’s a thank you to Annan and to Peter Murphy for helping us with Owen Moxon to start with, and hopefully they’ll make some money out of that.

“But it will be a really good game for us as well. I would imagine it’s a good one for the fans to get to as well because it’s not too far up the road.

“They’ll be flying after their promotion, our fans are on Cloud 9 with what we’ve done, we’ve just got to go and use it as an extension of training and hope to get everything out of it.”

Our own media team managed to catch up with Moxon to share his feelings about the game.

“I’m looking forward to getting back to galabank and seeing so many familiar faces. I loved my time there and loved last season with Carlisle so it’s good to be able to go back and play.”

“Both clubs had such a successful season with both gaining promotion so there will be a good feeling around both clubs. It should make for a good game with us both preparing for new challenges this season”
