NEW SIGNING – Brannan McDermott
Annan Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of full back Brannan McDermott.
The 20-year-old joins the Black & Golds after coming through the youth academy at Motherwell. He made his debut for the first team at only 18, against Edinburgh City in the Premier Sports Cup.
Since leaving Fir Park, Brannan has gained valuable senior experience with spells at Broomhill and Glenafton, showing his energy and attacking intent down the flank.
Brannan will join up with the squad for pre season training and will add competition and depth to Wullie Gibson’s backline ahead of the new season.
“I’m Delighted to sign with Annan” said Brannan. “It’s a club with a lot of ambition and great support behind it, I spoke with the gaffer and my mind was set, I can’t wait to get going, work hard and help the team to a successful season.”
Manager Wullie Gibson added, “Brannan spent some time with us last pre season after being released from Motherwell but we felt we had enough in that position at the time. However he’s shown up well once again and we were looking to add with Ryan Muir moving on. He’s at a good age and we feel he has potential to do well.”
