New Signing, Iain Anderson

The club is delighted to announce the new signing of Iain Anderson.

The 28 year old striker becomes the latest addition to Peter Murphy’s squad as it starts to take real shape for the season ahead.

Anderson, who started last season at Cumnock before moving to Dalbeattie Star in January for a second spell with “The Star” said the chance to play in the SPFL with Annan was a chance he couldn’t turn down, and the manager is confident he can follow in the footsteps of previous striker Tommy Muir who also made the move from Lowland League to SPFL.

Manager Peter Murphy commented on the new signing,

“We are delighted to get Iain on board, Iain is a player we have been monitoring for a couple of seasons and spoken with previously. He brings experience and goals, adding to our already strong spine in the team. He has scored at every level he has played and we are confident will show he is more than capable of being in the goal scoring charts at the end of the season.”

Speaking about his own move to Galabank, Anderson said,
“The chance to play SPFL football with Annan was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. Everyone I know that’s played here speaks very highly of the club! I am looking forward to getting started as it’s been a long frustrating year!”
