NEW SIGNING: Joel Mumbongo

The club is delighted to welcome the first new face of the summer in Joel Mumbongo.

Swedish born Mumbongo, joins the club on a one year deal and becomes Wullie Gibson’s latest signing for the 2025/26 season.

The 26 year old forward came through the ranks in his home country with BK Hacke, and has gained some great experience playing in England with the likes of Accrington Stanley, Tranmere Rovers and Burnley where he made 4 appearances in the English Premier League as well as 3 FA Cup appearances.

He recently spent time at our neighbours Queen of the South in 2024 whilst on loan from Hamilton, where he scored 5 goals in 12 appearances.

Joel spent last season at Dumbarton and now can’t wait to get started on a new chapter in his career at Galabank!

After making the decision to join us, Joel commented,

“I am very exited for the season ahead.
There has been some contact between my agent and Annan and when we looked at the options, I felt like Annan was a good move for me. I am familiar with the team and the style of playing because of the amount of times I have played against Annan and it’s always been a team that is difficult to face.

My first impression of the club is that it’s a good club with a strong fanbase and you always know what you’re going to get playing against Annan. I am a powerful striker and I will bring a dynamic and physical presence up top. I’m not scared to make mistakes and I am someone that enjoys giving defenders a hard time.

The thing I am looking forward to the most this season is winning. I am going in with the mindset of finishing top of the league and I believe we are more than capable of doing that.”
