Pete’s Here To Stay!

Annan Athletic stalwart Peter Watson has further pledged his future to the club as he remains on the coaching staff at Galabank under the new boss Wullie Gibson.

After the recent departure of Peter Murphy to Queens of the South, it was later revealed that the majority of Murphy’s back room staff would follow him to Palmerston. But Watson had made it clear to fans with a post on social media saying “I’m going nowhere”

Watson has gained experience in the dugout over the last couple of seasons working alongside Murphy and his coaching staff and has also been seen coming out of retirement to pull the shirt back on to help the team on the park.

“Im delighted to have been asked by Wullie to remain at Annan Athletic and be part of his new coaching staff,” Peter said. “Im looking forward to a new challenge and seeing Wullie’s philosophies in football first hand. Wullie is a passionate character and has very high standards so it’s easy to buy in to it when you have someone like that. I’m fully committed to do my best to help out in any way possible to make sure we have a successful season!”
