Vote for community and ladies football

Annan Athletic Community Football and Annan Athletic Ladies and Girls FC need your help!

Voting is now live for residents in Dumfries and Galloway to vote on the groups and organisations they believe should win a share of the money allocated by the council to tackle poverty.

If successful, Annan Athletic Community Footballwould use their bid for £4,991 to break down the barrier of poverty to participation and use the money to fund free community football spaces (including registration fee, weekly training fees and kit) to local children whose families are experiencing low income/poverty. These children would, in turn, reap a myriad of social, emotional and physical benefits of playing and training with their peers at Annan Athletic Community Football. Their parents/carers would have the security of knowing this would not impact negatively on the poverty they were experiencing.

Annan Athletic Ladies and Girls FC would like to be able to respond positively to the need identified by our local community by offering a block of 30 training sessions free for girls and being able to purchase kit and equipment which could be used at different age groups. It is imperative our girls grow up believing that they can be or do anything they wish in life, including a talented footballer! Your vote for our £5,000 application would support our belief that “these girls can!
